  1. That's impossible.

  2. huh you lost me at the "how" so i don't now i mean know!

  3. If you ever study L'Hospital's rule in calculus, you'll learn about interdeterminate forms like ∞/0=∞.

  4. Technically, division by zero is not defined.

Your question is exactly correct: the "how" is not defined.

Essentially you can get a long way with imagining infinity & such stuff, but your first instinct is right.

  5. division can be thought of in terms of continual subtraction.

For example 10 divided by 2 can be thought of as how many times can i subtract 2 from 10.

you can subtract it 5 times.

If we want to divide 10 by 0 , we think how many times can i take 0 away from 10. ............................

an Infinite number of times , so we refer to this an undefined

  6. You can't.  Dividing by a number is the same thing as asking "How many multiples of this number will get you a value?"

For example:  "Divide 18 by 3"  means:  How many multiples of 3 would it take to get 18?  The answer is 6 threes.

"Divide 10 by 4" means:  How many multiples of 4 would it take to get 10?  The answer is 2 1/2 fours.

"Divide 5 by 0" means:  How many multiples of 0 would it take to get 5?  There is no number that when you multiply it by 0 would work.  That's also true not only for 5, but for any real number (except 0 which is a special case, but I'm not going to go into it).

That's why dividing by zero is undefined.  There is no solution -- it just doesn't work!

    Hope this helped!

  7. Um, the answer is always 0.

  8. You can't because when you tried, say, 5 ÷ 0, using long division, no matter what answer you put on top, when you multiply it by the divisor (0) you get 0 and subtract to get the number you started with - and you can't have a remainder that equals the original dividend.

  9. Its easy......

YOU CAN'T!!   ask any calculator and it will say " can not divide by zero"

  10. It is undefined :)....that would be your answer. So, 4 divided by 0 equals "undefined".

  11. You can't. Anything divided by 0 is UNDEFINED, or DNE (does not exist)

try it in the calculculator if you don't believe it. It should say DOMAIN ERROR or undefined or something.

  12. It's simply undefinable.

You might think it's infinity, but then it could just as well be minus infinity, and its certainly not zero.

  13. You can't. It is undefined.

  14. you do not, you cannot

  15. you cant. its impossible. its DNE. Does Not Exist.

    make it a good day
