  1. Cold or room temp rice works better than warm, or just cooked rice. Leftover rice of any kind will make excellent fried rice - even brown or whole grain.

You can add almost anything, veggies, meats or eggs.

  2. Easiest way would be

    1) Cook rice

    2) Once cooked, let it cool down

    3) Prepare your ingredients (Whatever meat or vegetables that u love) - cut them into small pieces

    4) Next u must have a wok

    5) Heat up around 1 tablespoon of oil per cup of cooked rice.

    6) Use some garlic to flavour the oil

    7) Throw in the ingredients. lightly frr them

    8) Take out the ingredients and mixed them with your rice

    9) put back into the wok and turn high heat. Stir for a few more minutes

    10) Add some sesame oil for flavouring and maybe 1 egg per cup of rice

VOILA Your own version of fried rice is ready

  3. Just a few extra ideas for ya. When I cook the rice I put OXO (or the likes) in the water so it adds that flavor. ALWAYS use cold rice. I like to fry in butter for the flavor and add a handful of frozen peas to the finished product. The heat from the rice will thaw the peas but not cook them so they're plumper and sweeter.

  4. Just buy regular white rice. If you have trouble finding it at the store, ask someone - who works there - to help you.

    Fried Rice-

    Ingredients:

    * 4 cups cold cooked rice

    * 1 - 2 tablespoons light soy sauce or oyster sauce, as desired

    Preparation:

    1. Wash and finely chop the green onion. Lightly beat the eggs with the salt and pepper.

    2. Heat a wok or frying pan and add 2 tablespoons oil. When the oil is hot, add the eggs. Cook, stirring, until they are lightly scrambled but not too dry. Remove the eggs and clean out the pan.

    3. Add 2 tablespoons oil. Add the rice. Stir-fry for a few minutes, using chopsticks or a wooden spoon to break it apart. Stir in the soy sauce or oyster sauce as desired.

    4. When the rice is heated through, add the scrambled egg back into the pan. Mix thoroughly. Stir in the green onion. Serve hot.

  5. yes. I use Basmati rice. It does not stick like the other varieties of rice. Once you have cooked it, spread it out on a tray and let it cool in the fridge. Then it is ready to use for fried rice. Make sure you wok is hot before you put the rice in.

  6. I use steamed Jasmine rice and I fry my rice in high heat!

    1)  Heat the wok over high heat (as hot as possible), pour 3 to 4 tablespoons of peanut oil to season the wok, add 3 beaten eggs, stir fry quickly for a few seconds, turn heat to medium and add a bowl of cold steamed rice, stir fry quickly to let the egg cover the rice, I like to make my rice turn to light yellow in colour.

2)Add finely chopped green onions, turn off heat, toss to combine, add salt to taste, add a few drops of sesame oil.

    3) remove rice from wok, serve hot.

If you want to add more ingredients (shrimps, chicken dices, ham, etc.) in your fried rice, stir fried the other ingredients separately with seasoning. Then add stir fried ingredients in fried rice before you add chopped green onions.
