Okay guys help me out. I have heard that rugby is American football on steroids. :) But seriously, what rules are different than football? Also, how do you play cricket...isn't like baseball only with paddles?

  1. well for starters Rugby is nothing like American football. No forward passes, both sides do defence and offence, you have to place the ball on the ground over the try line to score a try.

Cricket is played on oval ground with a wicket in the middle. there is 11 per team. A wicket keeper(Back stop), bowler(pitcher) and 9 other fielders.  And 2 batter with have to hit the ball and sometimes run back and forward between the wicket

hope that helps, if not join a local club or comp to find out more

  2. You dont wear all the padding that american football players wear and it's not nearly so stop start.  Play doesn't stop when someone is tackled.  Also you can only pass backwords or side on but never forward.

cause there is rugby union, rugby league and 7's and although basics are same in all it would take to long to explain all the rules.  Best way to pick them up is to watch a game.
