the short answer is that almost all industries produce some sort of pollution in thier process. some of them dump them that pollution into the water which can cause a lot of damage.the wastage produce by the industries are directly thrown to nearest water resources. that wastage may be any thing but it effects or it  pollutes the water and makes it pollution.so this is a major reasons why water pollution apr being polluting by industries
