How interested would you be in family style take-out?

Such as a place that offers home cooked family style meals for you to pick up. Such as lasagne and other Italian dishes, meatloaf, pork and/or beef roasts. Most dishes would serve 4-6.

Would you prefer it hot and ready to eat or ready to go into the oven?

Would a drive-thur window for pickup matter to you?

How desirable would meals sized for 2 be?

How much would you expect to pay for family style take-out?

  1. -hot and ready to eat

-drive thru would be very convenient

-meals for two would be good two, a lot of couples, and friends

-depends on the quality and how healthy it is, cheaper if it's typical 'fast food', a little more expensive if it was cooked healthier

  2. Even before I read the first answer, I was thinking Boston Market.

I think it could go if it's in a busy enough metro area. I think meals for two are a good idea. In order to appeal to a wider audience, you should offer both preheated and ready to heat meals...that way all your business won't be at dinnertime :-)

  3. --Prefer ready to go into oven

-Drive thru--no, wanna see where my food's coming from

    -Follow FGP (food guide pyramid)

-Not as much as places already doing this (like Pass Your Plate or Super Suppers)--Those places are super expensive!

You should also have entree sizes for singles!

  4. A friend of ours tried opening a place like this up near our neighborhood.  She thought it would be great because it was near all of these middle class family suburban cookie cutter houses.  It actually didn't work out too well. She had to close it down. Not to say that it can't work, but you have to consider that someone could just as easily go to the store and pick up a frozen stouffers lasagna. Maybe mom having the ability to call in from the office an hour or two ahead of time and then having the food completely ready when she gets off work would work out better.

  5. Very interested!  I'd like to see the price be the same as a large pizza or a bucket of fried chicken (20-25$$) .

  6. all of that can be answered with BOSTON MARKET

    very desireable...

  7. At the Golden Corral in Spokane WA they have a podium with take-out dishes.  You fill them up, bring them back to have them weighed.  I think the price was $3.99/lb.  You paid there and went on.

  8. Yummmm

    1. Hot and ready to eat

    2. Drive-thru would be cool, but either way..

    3. that would be ok, but if its family-style you'd need larger meal sizes too

    4. absolutely no idea

  9. hot and ready to eat sounds good.

drive thru window would sound good for families-on-the-go, but ALSO walk inside and pick up the food would be ideal too

we have a family of 3, going on 4 in the next few weeks, so we would order family of 4 meal package

dont know as far as cost? we dont eat any fast food, we do eat some at restaurants, though, but not much, once in a great great while...
