  1. MCMXCIX

    MCM=1900

    XC=90

    IX=9

  2. M I M

  3. MDCCCCLXXXXVIIII

  4. 1999 is a special case in roman numerals and can be given several ways.  See the references for discussions.

  5. MXMXCIX

    M = 1000

    X = 10

    C = 100

    I = 1

    So literally,

    1000 + 10 before 1000 (900) + 10 before 100 (90) + 1 before 10 (9) = 1999

    Hope that helped :D

  6. MCMXCIX

  7. here are some roman numerals-

    M=1000

    D= 500

    C= 100

    L= 50

    X= 10

    V= 5

    I= 1

    If you put a numeral before a larger one, the smaller one is subtracted. like, IV= 4 but VI= 6.

    so, 1999 is IMM

    (why is this in eviroment/ecology? it's more like math or lauguage or something)

  8. MIM
