  1. Sláinte!  or cheers in Gaelis is phonetically pronounced slahn-CHA

The te in Gaelic phonetically makes a cha sound

  2. It depends on which area of Ireland you live.  I would pronounce it "sloin-theh".

  3. You say "slanj ee va" (cheers) which turns into:

SLANJ -  then as the night rolls on  Sladg - then slaaaaa...

then no more for me - honest then slaaaaaaaaaaaah aaah aaah aahahahahah (often into the big white telephone to god!)

Thats a night out with the Irish where I come from (UK)

  4. slawn-tche

But I have no english word to compare it to, I'd say you could find someting on the internet with pronunciation in it

But get it right because bad Irish is one of the most appaling things to listen to

  5. Yes your right. Its pronounced slawn-cha. Make sure its a very very sharp and short cha though. Pronounce it as one word not two like slawncha. Good luck!

  6. Correct! I grew up there. But it's a short cha & pronounced as one word not two.
