  1. Skype out drops your call to the local phone network and connects you to the phone number that you dialed. You would use your speakers and microphpone. If you had a skype phone you'd use it there are lots of neat skype phones. Some WIFI others are usb , and some still are dual line phones skype and your regular home line. I love Skype as a neat teen line in the house.

  2. its really easy....just download the software......sign up and buy 10 dollars worth of credits to start!

    http://www.skype.com/

you call from a softfone (popup window) from your computer.

All you need to start is any cheap headset with a mic on it!

also you can use a webcam and really have lots of fun calling your friends and family...

its only 14.99 from skype, but you can buy them at Target or BestBuy too...

    you have several choices here!

you can use your computer to call other ppl on there computer....this is called PC to PC...

    or

you can use your skype credits and call from your PC to other ppl landline and cell-phones ( not all countries)....

and/or.....you can get skype/in.....ppl can call you....but there is no callerID yet, there working on it (for the past year) callerID will show. 012-345-6789

and if you really wanna get real fancy, then you can purchase a skype phone.

Skype has announced unlimited calling to about 34 countries for $10/month. This includes most of Europe and some of Asia and the South Pacific. Right now there's a special where you can get a third off the price if you buy a subscription before June 1.

Skype started as a VoIP service that appealed to techies. eBay bought Skype because they thought it would facilitate international auctions. But it turned out sellers didn't want to take calls from buyers! So eBay turned things around by positioning Skype as a competitor to traditional long distance.

Finally, Skype also has a new service launching in about 8 countries that will allow people to make ultra-cheap calls back to the United States. The price? Try about 2-4 cents per minute. In the future, we'll likely have free global calling. That's a little bit of good news amid all the bad.

this is new to skype and just started!

  3. The call gets directed to their landline. You use your microphone and speakers to speak to the person. Skypeout credit is required and you are charged for making the call although it is cheaper than BT.
