How is Bill Clinton considered a Machiavellian??

What has Bill Clinton done in his political career that shows he's a Machiavellian?

Can you think of any other political leaders that could be considered Machiavellians?

A machiavellian is someone who deceives and manipulates people for ones own benefit. They might not actually have all the great qualities there are to be a great leader, but they can show them to the people. A machiavellian can build a great army with a great defense, and can win over the peoples loyalty and love through fear and violence if necessary.

Please help, thanks!

  1. Not necessarily.  A classic Machiavellian goes for the juggler when he attacks.  Never give a foe a second chance -- or even half a chance.

  2. I do believe d**k Morris knows this word very well. His books "Fleeced", "Rewriting History", and  "Because He Could",  will help you understand why Bill Clinton is a Machiavellian. One does not miss the irony in the fact that a Machiavellian believes good can come from evil actions.

    Who is Bill Clinton?

A man whose presidency was disgraced by impeachment -- yet who remains one of the most popular presidents of our time.

A man whose autobiography, My Life, was panned by critics as a self-indulgent daily diary -- but rode the bestseller lists for months.

A man whose policies changed America at the close of the twentieth century -- yet whose weakness left us vulnerable to terror at the dawn of the twenty-first.
