How is Cabarete?

Question

I am a teenager going there with my family is it fun it going to be fun for me because i know how to surf and dive and all the pretty much all the othe sports. We have a condo right on the windsurfing beach so do we have to go somewhere else to lisurely swim or can you do it there becuase i think there pretty far out. Also any other things that are cool to do there and fun for the family plus we have some friends going with us too. Lastly whats the closest rental shops for tanks and BCD's, Surfboards and all theat kind of stuff

Cabarete is fun.  The beach is long with white sand and lots of space for surfing, kite and board, swimming etc...  The water is fairly shallow, so you have to go out a ways to get above your shoulders.  The beach is set up in a long row of restaurants and rental places so you can find all your tanks and surfboards.  Remember to barter when buying stuff off the beach and in the gift shops.  There are tour operators to go on safari tours.  They have other options depending on your age and interests.  

Don't eat anything with lettuce or cabbage and be careful with the water.
