How is Canada connected to the rest of the world?

Canada imports and exports with many countries around the world.  Ask the U.S how they like our oil.

Lots of very important things were discovered or produced by canadians (pablum, insulin, telephone etc.)  Where would the rest of the world be without them?

Canada is the most culturally diverse country on earth .  Historically we have let in more immigrants per capita than any other country.

Most countries have a culture of assimilation, but Canada values and nurtures our diverse set of backgrounds.

We love Canada and are allowed to express pride and a bond with our countries of birth.

In that regard, we are more connected to the rest of the world than any other country.

I'm not sure if that's what you were getting at in your question but it's the first thing that came to mind.

We are technologically advanced. Contrary to popular belief, we live in houses, drive cars, not horse and buggy. We own phone, have the internet, heck even those fancy talking picture boxes. We are as connected to the rest of the world as any other developed first world country!
