  1. The city is very crowded, but not extremely crowded like London. The people are quite friendly... I remember a nice gentleman walking by me and saying, "pardon me, love"... even though he didn't run into me. There are a LOT of restaurants, drug stores, etc. The weather is basic UK fare: cold, wet. There are two major train stations running out of Cardiff, so public transportation is a plus.

If there's anything else you want to know, email me! I've been there 2 times.

  2. it always rains!

  3. Lived there for 3 years...be very careful nobody told me till it was too late for me but it's full of something called the Welsh...

  4. Cardiff is lovely, and we are lovely people (mostly)! Weather is like normal British weather- rains quite a lot, but sometimes, just sometimes in the summer it's beautifully sunny and warm! There's plenty to do here as well, with a lovely coastline and good entertainment!

  5. what language do you speak? that's basically what i expect an au pair to be, someone who is learning english and can teach the kids a new language.

i don't know how many there are in Cardiff, but if it's anything like swansea, the language people most want their kids speaking is WELSH!!! kids learn it at school, and if they want to work in wales when they're older, it will give them something like a 10% pay rise.

if you speak something else i'm sure someone will want you but you will probably have more options with welsh.

  6. Cold, wet & Welsh. Next question.

  7. The city is really good. Loads of money has been spent on upgrading the area. Cardiff Bay is worth a visit, as are the museums and castles in and around Cardiff. The shopping is superb. The people are friendly, the weather is the same as the rest of the UK - but less cold and wet than the north (which includes the north of England and Scotland), but gets more rain than the south - London, Kent, Cambridge, etc. There are not many Welsh schools in Cardiff, so the chances of you being in home where Welsh is spoken are very slight, so I wouldn't worry about any language barrier.

  8. im mooving near to there soon

    and it rains alot

    the people are really nice

    it is quite busy

    =)

  9. A poor neighbour to the jewel of Wales, Swansea.

  10. Take your umbrella and wellies and a big box of hankies.
