The old testament is all about the comming  Messiah.

The  new testament reveals the old testament.

Jesus of Nazareth is a Jew.  The Lion of Judah.  Jesus is of the bloodline of Jesse the father of David.  

All of Christianity is about Jesus Christ, the Jew.

The Jews, otherwise known as the Hebrews, started out as a single family of 12 brothers and their descendants.  

This family had a close relationship with God, and after many generations, Jesus, the Christ, or the promised messiah, was born among them.

Jesus performed the final sacrifice for all sin, past, present, and future and paid the price of sin which the bible states as "Death".  

This final sacrifice instituted God's Grace, which is the forgiveness or "covering" of our sins, provided we promise to follow the teachings of Jesus.  Over time,  the term "Christian" was applied to the followers because they were behaving in a Christ-like manner, which is somewhat contrary to the ways we may behave otherwise.    

Thus, Christianity came to us through the Jews.
