How is Driving South Pasadena to Torrance, CA with 710 highway?

I am going to CSULA in the Fall and my Girlfriend works in Torrance. I had told her i think South Pasadena would be a great place to live, but she thinks the traffic is going to be ridiculous on the 710 Highway.

She has to be at work by 8:30 everyday. Do you think 710 is good for going south to Torrance? She also thinks later afternoon it is trafficy getting back to South Pasadena from Torrance.

PLEASE HELP fellow DRIVERS!

Why the 710, is it near where you plan to live in South Pas, or is she dropping you off at school? The 110 might be faster, depending on the exact locations. The best thing to do is to give it a try. Sometimes leaving from South Pas just a bit earlier can make a big difference.  

FYI the traffic in South Pas itself can be annoying, but you'd learn what streets to avoid (like Fair Oaks if possible). South Pas is a great place to live, a nice, safe community.
