  1. Yes, they do - there is a big boycott thing happening right now for KFC's treatment of the chickens they use. They refuse to follow the humane killing laws and because of this, their animal rights reps keep resigning (they have people on their board whose job it is to make sure they follow the human killing laws, and since they don't, those folks feel like they can't be associated with such an organization anymore).

The KFC corporation in Canada has already decided to cooperate with the law due to petitions and boycotts, so that's awesome, but the U.S. KFC corp is still sticking to its inhumane processes - you don't want to hear all the gory details, but they basically cause chickens unnecessary pain during the killing process.

The humane killing laws state that animals have to be rendered senseless before any pain is inflicted upon them (basically, they have to make it to where they cannot feel anything, and the killing is painless and quick). But KFC chooses not to follow the law. After seeing by way of video how disgusting and cruel KFC's practices are, I am part of the boycott on the U.S. KFC corp until they agree to follow the law. I'm not a complete and total vegetarian (though I eat a lot of vegetarian foods, I still eat meat sometimes), and let me tell ya, I really like KFC, so it has been hard, lol. But I just really feel upset about the things they are doing to these chickens. I mean, if you're going to kill them, at least follow the law and do it humanely.

  2. i dunno, but d**n, their chicken is one of the best.

  3. By the way they raise and kill the chickens. If they raise them on a farm they have free range (hence, free range chicken lol) they exercise because they walk and round and have a better diet. If they are factory raised they have them in cages which means the meat isnt lean (ever notice the chicken is fatty?) they have a poor diet and are injected w hormones to make them get bigger quicker. They can kill them by injecting them or some times they put them in a room and "gas" them to death with something lethal in the air. The best way to kill the chicken is natural (Halal/kosher) They snap their necks and hang them upside down letting the blood drain out on its own. This is why free range/organic chicken is better. It cost more and taste a lil different. Hope that helps

  4. slaughtered animals are tastier

  5. Hey Strickley,

You do not know what you are talking about when it comes to the commercial slaughter of chickens..I am an industrial salesman that has many slaughter houses as clients..Chickens are not gassed..Are you kidding me.  Gassing animals for human consumption with poison gas?  The systems I have seen have the chickens neck held straight by two wheels, then a razor sharp saw cuts the neck.  Then it goes into a machine that removes all of the feathers.  From that stage, the chickens are hung by the feet and move via an aerial conveyor through the plant where other robotic machines slice and dice accordingly.  There is very little human contact with the bodies.  I remember my first tour and it is not pretty.  In the kill room, all employees are in standard yellow slickers that are covered with blood.  There are huge troughs of blood that flow out of the room like rivers.  This is treated for further use in feed for cattle and dog and cat food.  The smell will make some swear off meat for life.  The human was meant to eat all things.  We are omnivores.  It is not pretty.  In the olden days people would ring necks then pluck then cook.  I am old enough to remember this.  How would you suggest we slaughter the animals we eat these days..You can not wait for chickens to die before they are processed.

  6. well that doesn't really matter, the fact is we put the chickens in hot oil.

  7. it's only cruel if you don't eat chicken, because all the slaughtered chickens go to waste.

  8. well, if we didnt eat chickens, they would be overpopulating, i loove chicken, but i dont like kfc, they put roaches in the hot oil, :S
