Throughout the history, Korea was always indirectly controled by other states, such as China, Japan, and Russia..

I don't get it, how is it possible for them to remain an individual state? since they are so weak economically, militarily and politically.

  1. Uhm.....compared to many other nations, the Republic of Korea is actually very strong.  They have a powerful export economy, a strong, well trained and well-equiped military.  Their political system seems a bit shakey to me, but that's about it.  Moreover, they are closely allied with the United States, and are economically linked to much of the "West."  You need to look at how the country was occupied and particioned at the end of the Second World War, and how the US and the UN fought to preserve the country in the 1950-1953 Korean War, as well.

  2. Korea is not weak in economically, military and politically.

Economically view point, they own the technology business. Samsung, LG and other IT products.

Military, they are able to hold off attacks from Japan. Google the turtle boat story.

    And not sure about politically.

  3. .... This is one of those questions best answered sarcastically.

"How is it that a family that owns their own home, but barely makes the mortgage and the bills, and has 3 children, and are in a marital dispute manage to keep their home?"

Now do you see the answer to your question? Immaterial. None of those things matter, especially considering there are countries with each of these qualities of a country that you mention severely exaggerated.
