What is life like in Madrid? How much does an average job pay, how much for rent? subway? and internet in the house? What is there to see and do, and how hard is it to just move there and start working? I would prefer to live in a studio apartment or something like that by myself. Just the low down on madrid.

  1. Well ,life quality here is great, in some zones, there´s a litlle bit of danger with little thieves. Madrid it´s like a normal capital, with great popoulation, many life(there´s much thing to see: museums, palaces, art galleries(I recommend Del Prado and Thyssen-Bornemisza museums), malls, etc. People here are very friendly and fun, we like to eat in little tapas bar and restaurants and to go dancing in clubs. An average job pay(minimum wage in Spain) it´s like 650 euros(784 $). I gain more money, because i´m a professional and I work for an important oil company. For rent, the best are the apartments or "pisos" like we called in downtown. The lowest average rent it´s like 1500 euros(1800 $), it depends in what zone you want to live, others are more expensive. I pay for Internet service, like 100 euros(120 $). If you don´t have family and aren´t a proffesional it´s very hard to move, because now, huge masses of Latin inmigrants are moving to Spain. Hope this helps.

  2. WE were there as tourists last Oct and liked the city.  Its kinda fast, like a mini New York City.  Lots of cars, lots of people, a good subway system.  We stayed down near the Royal palace and walked all over.  Felt safe, didn't see any roberies or assults, no police or army standing on corners.

We left at 7:00 in the morning on a SUnday and there were lots of young folks hanging out on their way home from night clubs and nightlife.

We did a bus tour of the city and then walked to see the Palace, the Plaza Mayor, and the Prado museum.  That would pretty much cover the major things there.
