Question:

How is McCain's POW experience a measure of his character?

Fred Thompson said McCain's POW experience was a measure of his character.

But wait a minute, John McCain broke down and gave the enemy all the information they wanted. He was known as "songbird McCain" in the prison camp.

Many a man would break down, so how did McCain rise above that? He broke down also.

They took me up into one of the interrogation rooms, and for the next 12 hours we wrote and rewrote. The North Vietnamese interrogator, who was pretty stupid, wrote the final confession, and I signed it. I kept saying to myself, "Oh, God, I really didn't have any choice." I had learned what we all learned over there: Every man has his breaking point. I had reached mine.

  1. His whole life shows his character. Spoiled son a an oil heiress who was rebellious herself, she ran away wth the man who she later married & is his father. He has lied about so much. He admits cheating many times on his wife. He left her with the kids & didn't talk to them again til 2000 when he needed to use them b/c he was running for Pres. His whole war story is a lie but peopl would rather believe it than to do research to find out the truth. This bunch is just in in it to rob people. His character is measured to be below zero because I know the truth about this story that is constantly used to pull out the heartstrings of the republican party who claim to not be emotional people. Only emotional  people who fall for this instead of getting the truth.

  2. If you can't understand how it is a measure of his character, Please don't vote.

  3. he has nothing healthy to offer our country. I have studied healing for over 40 years. To tell our story of the past does not help us. Eventually we have to move into the present. To look at someone with 4 bouts of cancer, to look at a 72 year old is to go into a stage of deterioration, preparing for a graduation from this physical life. Now if he had transformed his life & became wise & rejuevanted that would be different but you can't do that & rehash the old the way they all are doing...The worst part is how he treated the P.O.W's when he came back. Why are people not looking into how he voted against our military. He is competing with everyone one in the world, he is not for them. His wife is a phoney acting like she loves children when she benefits from alcohoism......do a web search for Vietnam Veterans against McCain   find their videos to see how he treated the women who was representing the vets famlies.

  4. He had the opportunity to be released shortly after being captured. Because he did not want special treatment, or leave his fellow POWs, he stayed. That shows character.

Whether it's a political ploy or not - he was given an opportunity to avoid years of torture and turned it down. The others who turned down the offer also have great character. No one is trying to say he's better than any other POW.

  5. "I think it concerned them that my arm was broken, and they had messed up my leg. I had been reduced to an animal during this period of beating and torture. My arm was so painful I couldn't get up off the floor. With the dysentery, it was a very unpleasant time."

I was finding that prayer helped. It wasn't a question of asking for superhuman strength or for God to strike the North Vietnamese dead. It was asking for moral and physical courage, for guidance and wisdom to do the right thing. I asked for comfort when I was in pain, and sometimes I received relief. I was sustained in many times of trial.

Really, how could anyone not understand that facing such trials would strengthen a person?

Our experiences are what form us, strengthen us, teach us.

Would it be better if John wrote how he hoped for the change of the hope of the change?

    KEEP THE CHANGE

    I'LL TAKE ACTION AND IMPROVEMENT

  6. It shows that he can take a beating. It will really come in handy when he gets whopped in the upcoming election.

Edit: Wow, "Proud McCain Supporter" is even saying "my friend" like McCain does. Somebody drank the Kool Aid.

  7. How can you even ask that?

Do you not understand he was tortured?

He can't even salute the flag or raise his hand to get a waitress to fill a glass of water for him.

It's his commitment, he chose the hard right instead of the easy wrong and he did it for your FREEDOM

He didn't stay in a church that spit out hate for over 20 years, just to keep the vote and make sure people thought he was "black enough".

    Please DO NOT VOTE

  8. think about it, when one is put through that kind of treatment, and continues to do what right for his country and not himself, that is character my friend. it is embedded deep into who he is. McCain will use this same character to shake up Washington for real, not like Obama who just "hopes for change".

  9. It shouldn't be! Being a POW is the main reason he thinks he can lead this Country
