I wish that I could tell you Obama's intentions, but I cannot.  Anyone following campaign promises should know that they often are no more than rhetoric aimed at convincing people to vote for the candidate.  What Obama promises may differ significantly from what we will get if he is elected.  Likewise, the same consideration should be given to McCain promises.

To attempt to "force" any kind of behavior is coercion.  Political force rests upon the use of violence (or its threat).  We sanitize political solutions by calling them regulations, interventions, taxes and so forth.  But their employment rests upon inflicting violence upon the disobedient.

We style ourselves as following a middle-of-the-road system between a free market and socialism [1].  However, to the extent that the means of production are privately owned to any extent, there always exists a free (if challenged) market.  When central planners seize any part of the means of production, humans (being complex creatures) react in unpredictable ways.  The plans never work as intended.  The choices are then to roll back the ill-considered interventions, continue with a hampered market or to expand the interventions in continuing search of the planners' dreams.  Our "middle-of-the-road system" is only state socialism by installment.

The claim by the small business owner goes counter to the general consensus - that taxes under Obama will be greater for business.  We should not discount the possibility though that our small business friend is correct.  McCain is hardly a free market champion.  As I pointed out at the start, there are promises.  There is rhetoric.  And then there will be reality.  Setting aside for now the uncertainty, there is no way short of coercion to "force" any kind of behavior.  However, businesses will almost certainly invest more in capital and employment if they are allowed to keep more of their incomes.  If a candidate taxes businesses less, there will be more jobs [2].

his policies would create more jobs, he wouldn't have to force them and if the economy improves which it always does under democratic leadership then there will be more jobs. Unions are to benefit the workers and give them more income so they will have more to spend kind of basic economics! Taxing companies who send jobs overseas gives them a financial incentive to stay home, this is over simplified and luckily Obama has the intelligence to figure these things out, unfortunately the Republicans can't see past their own bank accounts.

Political pressure is terribly staggering on businesses. Either keep up with being more people and employee friendly or disappear into obscurity. There is no need to treat the people in this country worse than the illegal immigrants that come here.

Actually, I am a small business owner and I have gone over both plans thoroughly. The tax changes and breaks that Barack is proposing are going to allow me to move to a bigger office and higher additional staff. This is from some of the lower taxes that I will be assessed and the help I will get in offering health care to my employees. Small business accounts for 48% of the non-farm GDP. We aren't all Wal-Marts, you know.

He is all talk no action, always has been always will be.   When he did community organizing all of those buildings he org. are shut down and people are now worse off than they were.   He and Rezko were money con artists in my opinion.

taxes give the government money to spend.

if they want to move the whole company. let them. someone loyal to the usa (true American) will fill that job.
