How is Tactical Krav Maga different from Standard Krav Maga and Commando Krav Maga?

Standard Krav Maga as known in the USA, is based out of Los Angeles, and is designed for fitness, self defense and fun.  the head of the Organization is a Los Angeles county prosecutor.

( BTW Sayaret == special forces, many different branches according to specialty)

Commando Krav Maga is a creation of Moni Aizik, a former member of Sayaret Maktal and a genuine warrior,  He has taken the next step in Krav Maga, making movements even more direct and lethal. Given the choice, I would go with the CKM body.

Tactical Krav Maga is another school of Krav Maga, developed by Itay Gil, another alum of the School of Combat Fitness, although I don't know if he was Sayaret.



In my years teaching I have taken elements from Combat SAMBO and Taijiquan to incorporate into my teachings, as Krav Maga is a combat MMA which is in constant evolution.  In my classes we do some weapons training every day, to get students reacting to the threat of weapons in  positive, defensive if necessary lethal manner.

In the USA I would go with Moni's group, he was Sayaret Maktal and has been featured on the History channel show "Perfect Weapon" twice, his body deals with modern weapons from class 1 on.  The Los Angeles body does not.  I know little of the relatively new "Tactical Krav Maga" body.

I see the CKM and Tactical groups are more combat oriented than the American body, they deal with  fitness, fighting and weapons from an early stage.  The Los Angeles group, although better than most martial arts organizations also sells Krav Maga as a fitness product as well.  PFT is a certain part of Krav Maga training, but not the end product.  Combat fitness is, the ability to survive a high intensity conflict situation.
