How is The Phantom Pierre's father?

In the phantom of manhattan, the sequel to the phantom of the opera (stage version), Christine Daae has a son, Pierre, and at the end of the book it is revealed that Erik (the phantom) is the father. How can this be? I searched alot. I don't think there is any evidence that Christine and the Phantom had s*x. Did they, and if they did, when?

  1. Well, I'm not to happy to see a sequel to Phantom, I think it's unnecessary, however, if you can't find it online, then it'll probably be explained in the show, so you may just need to wait until it opens. =/

  2. i love phantom of the opera which is why i hate the phantom of manhattan, your question says it all really. there was no point at which they could have really and christine is too sweet and innocent to surrender her virginity outside marriage in that day and age. i hope ALW sees sense and haults the sequel musical as POTO had a perfect ending with the 'if you love someone you let them go' thing and POM would completely undermine this. sorry just my opinion

  3. Good grief....I wasn't aware of a sequel...while there was no evidence of intimacy between Eric and Christine Daae, either in the original novel or in the stage musical, there is a scene in the filmed musical, in which Christine faints away in the underground lair while wearing her stockings, and is seen the next morning not wearing them. This was an added "bit" for sharp-eyed viewers to speculate about, according to the director. Presumably, the Phantom "could have" raped Christine while unconscious, or, less likely, brought her around and then seduced her (yeah, right...).

Rubbish is what I call it, but that's my opinion.
