How is Tullow's area ?

Hi, I'm French and I have an opportunity to work in Tullow (Co Carlow). Could you tell me how is the area please ? How is the town and everything you can tell me ... Thanks

Tullow in County Carlow (An Tulach in Irish) is an expanding market town situated 15 km (9.5 miles) from Carlow and 88 km (55 miles) from Dublin City. It has fallen prey to the ever expanding Dublin commuter belt, with a growing population, currently of around of around 2800 (Census 2006), with the result that property prices have increased greatly over the last number of years. Well located in the sunny South East, Tullow is very accessible to the major urban centres of Carlow, Kilkenny, Naas, Newbridge and Wexford. The planned new M9 motorway will be about 11 km (7 miles) from Tullow and will make commuting even easier.

The town is conveniently placed for exploring the beauty spots of south Wicklow and north Wexford. as well as those of Carlow and Kilkenny.

In Tullow Parish and its immediate hinterland there are many Clubs, Groups, and Organisations involved in a huge range of Community Activities.

I've only passed through it a few times but I have a friend who lives in Tullow and she seems to like it. apparently its the fastest growing area in Carlow. there are tons of new apartments and houses being built every day. Tullow itself has all the basics-a supermarket, shops, hairdressers, a few pubs, restaurants. They also have one of the best hotels in Carlow called Mount Wolsley which was recently taken over by the Hilton chain. Tullow is roughly a 30 minute drive from Carlow town which has really developed over the past few years in to a great and busy town. good luck with your new job :D
