I've seen some people on here and some I know that say Vlad is overrated but I don't see how.

If he finishes this season with at least a .300 average and 25 or more home runs, he will be alone with Lou Gehrig who have an average of at least .300 and 25 or more home runs for 11 straight seasons!

Not only is that rare, but its something that Arod, Manny Rameriz, Albert Pujols or even Babe Ruth for crying out loud hasn't accomplished (yet).

But you can't say that Vlad is overrated besides, he hits most home runs out of the strike zone, that in itself makes pitchers fear him.

  1. I've never read anyone say that, and I can't believe that anyone would.  The guy is one of the best hitters in the leauge...he can hit pretty much anything thrown his way.  He's incredibly talented.

  2. if vladimir guerrero is overrated i'll take 3 of him for my outfield

  3. Vlad guerrero is not overrated.. your stats prove it. most people say he is because he is not a ( manny ramirez, albert pujols or big papi) Vlad's stats will only get better if the Angels could find a way to sign teixera at the end of the season....Vlad has never had that kind of protection in the lineup...look at the angels recent offensive onslaught (teixera, guerrero, hunter)

  4. He is Not I never said He was and your Information backs it up Thank you for the 2 Points.

  5. Vlad and overrated never belong in the same sentence.  If anything when he first came out, it was him and the overrated Andruw Jones that most people went goo goo for because of him hitting HR's in the playoffs in his rookie year.  Vlad hitting style is what probably what turns off alot of baseball purest the most.  Everyone would love to have the swing of Griffey or Chipper Jones but that is the beauty of the game.  Vlad has definately lost a step the last few years in terms of his overall stats and his best years might be behind him but he is still a super star and a future HOF'er.

  6. I've never seen anyone ever say that.

Vlad is one of the best hitters in baseball, and only an idiot wouldn't realize that.

  7. To be fair, Pujols hasn't played for 11 seasons yet...

  8. He's not overrated, he's just having an off-season, which is actually better than most players on-seasons.
