  1. Frequently, it is characterized by a typical plant and typical animal of the biome. The best-known is the characterization of the taiga as the Spruce-Moose biome. Taiga occurs where the temperature is not cold enough for tundra but too cold for other biomes. In areas warmer than the taiga, the major biomes are determined by available water.


  2. i suppose it is a geographical type of ecosystem so to say. Meaning a biome is a classification of what climate/weather/geography is characteristic of a certain ecosystem(e.g. a tundra, rainforest, etc.
