  1. Cashiers check, money order or certified checks are all good.  They are better than a regular check because they are guaranteed, you have to have the cash in order to be able to obtain a money order, certified check or a cashiers check, you don't necessarily have to have the funds available for a regular check and there is the chance they will bounce, whereas the other three will not bounce.

  2. Cashiers Checks are bank guaranteed money.

Anyone will take them and credit immediately.

they are easier to trace if there is a problem and you have a lost check in the mail, your bank will keep accurate record.

Money Orders unless drawn at your bank are often hard to trace and get the money back if lost or stolen.

  3. If you receive a regular check and there is not enough money in the payor's account to cover the check, the check will bounce.  A Cashier's check is a check issued by the bank after someone has bought and paid for it.  It is guaranteed by the bank.  A money order is guaranteed by the issuer of the money order.  If it is a postal money order in the US, is is guaranteed by the Post Office Department.  A certified check is written by an individual and certified by his bank,  They certify that the check is good by drawing money out of his account for the check at the time it is certified.  Thus the bank guarantees the check.  Many banks today, do not certify checks, but will issue cashier's checks instead.

  4. A cashier's check is like a money order both are considered like cash. With a cashier's check or certified check the money is obligated from your checking account and doesn't have to go through the clearing time period.

  5. While cashier's and certified checks are normally safer, there are a lot of check scams out there and you should be very careful about accepting certified or cashiers checks.
