How is a consumers 2nd car purchase behavior different from his 1st car purchase behavior?

This question is a part of my educational project. As a part i wanted to understand what are the drivers of consumers 2nd car(not 2nd hand car) purchase behavior?

  1. Usually people get taken for a ride first time round. They are forced / suckered into buying c**p extra's they don't need. So next time they wise up and drive a hard bargain.

    Besides for everyone, 90 % of the time first car is a old beatup 2nd hand car.  


  2. Much more careful of the contract if financing, and probably more deliberate about negotiating. . .  

  3. ok, this is best answered by a survey of people possibly passing into a used car or new car lot. Something like this should be answered by you alone but answers here should be referenced to make it your own
