  1. I don't see how a nation CAN have stability, security, and strength if it is not making correct decisions about how/where/and with what is used to have energy, as well as being mindful about using LESS energy. It is careless and stupid to disregard the environment (and all things living in it) - it is NOT smart to destroy the (1 & only) place that we live; and, it is not humane to keep upsetting the balance of nature.

When "green" innovations are used to the fullest extent there are many, many benefits, including saving tons of money (and of course the most important benefits of creating a cleaner environment for better health & improving the environment's health as well).

I think that the better a nation can manage its energy supply & usage to Earth-friendly sources and Earth-friendly usage, it will become stronger, safer, and more stabile.

(Oh and... no offense, please, but I can't help it... "effected" SHOULD be "affected" -

    Examples:

-That punch had no EFFECT on the kickboxer.

-How did the high prices AFFECT you?)

  2. My 20-page essay is summed up in, "Without a full-out attempt to strengthen our own energy infrastructure, the U. S. risks its economic and security wellbeing to be dictated by the MiddleEast oil powers, the Russian nation (which already controls Europes natural gas supply) Nigeria, Mexico and others.  Our dependence on Canada is even threatened by China and other Asian powers who are signing long-range lucrative contracts with that nation, which is systematically limiting our own future dependence on that country.

As the consumer of 25% of the world's oil, the U. S. will either face unsustainable costs for power or the acceptance of a tough energy policy that attempts to maintain our economic growth and supplant our oil usage with electricity, clean coal, nuclear power, and conservation.
