I have to take a typing test to determine my word per minute (wpm) rate. I was wondering how do they do the test. If you make a mistake in a word can you go back and change it? I've seen some practice tests where you do not use the backspace bar, you just continue on to the next letter or word. I've also seen some where you can hit the backspace and correct a mistaken letter or two. Just wondering if you have ever taken one and how it was set up. Thanks!

  1. Yes you can use the backspace and correct your mistake but it'll make your wpm slower. Most of the time its a paragraph with some rather long words in it. You start when they tell you too and stop when they tell you to. There will be number at the end of each line, and once the test is over, they'll add up your numbers and take out the mistakes and then divide that byt the number of minutes that your test was.

Just remember to relax when taking it.  Good luck!!!
