How is a woman not responsible for incest too?

Why are the feminists always crying out for using the dictionary definition of feminism, but when you do that for something else you're wrong?

Pookie- I thought the definition of incest was well-known. Heck, I provided one. Some of the people on here understood my question pretty good. If all 10 or so (can't see how many have answered right now and I forgot the exact number) of you seemed to have a misunderstanding with it, I'd be listening to some of the concerns. But when the first 2 people got it and a couple of other people did as well, apparenlty it's worded well enough for some people. There's only one person who admitted to not understanding the question and was civil about it at this point, so I'm going to assume some people just don't want to discuss this in a civil manner. I

I'm not happy that I allowed myself to be drawn into that kind of game, either, but what's done is done, and I will defend myself from childish personal attacks that people on here resort to

  1. I don't see incest as consensual, although I guess in some cases it could be - like the brother/sister scenario you provided. But that is a tricky line to draw, especially since it puts one against the other as to who is to be believed if he OR she says it wasn't consensual.

I guess it would depend on the situation as to what the consequences should be. I would say for the most part, that incest isn't consensual. My brother was a victim of this.

However, I did have a friend that confessed to me that she had s*x with her stepbrother, which is gross but she said it was consensual.

It really depends on the circumstances as to who is at fault.

  2. Sorry but most incest occurs when children are young.  I suppose you blame the victim of that horrendous act in Vienna for seducing her father as well.  Victim blame and all the other myths about sexual assault abuse and rape are spread by people like yourself who can't see past blaming a victim for some act being done by a male.  I bet you think that pedophiles are seduces by the children as well.

  3. I read and re read your question several times and I have no idea what you are trying to ask.

If you are asking how a woman is not responsible for incest, I think it is because she is a victim and had no choice in the matter. A woman can also commit incest by forcing a family member to have s*x with her.

  4. Provided the s*x is between consenting adults, both parties ARE responsible for choosing sexual partners.

But if a woman (and a man) are too stupid to figure out that they are too closely related to be married, then I'd actually rather the woman have an abortion. Combined with the increased risk of birth defects, the world doesn't need another child raised by people that ignorant. It's also best for the future of humanity that their branch of the gene pool procreate no further.

  5. I would agree with Big Sky, s*x is between consenting adults, which both are responsible for choosing sexual partners.  One cannot be so foolish as to ignore the increased dangers of bearing a child from someone too closely related to each other, and if they are, then they should not be having children in the first place.  =P

  6. Most incest cases involved girls being raped by care givers in their families such as uncles, older cousins and even fathers. They accomplish this by manipulating and threatening the girls into doing what their told and not telling anyone. It may not be all physical force but there are ways of making someone do things they don't want to without holding a gun to their heads. In these cases, no the girl is not at fault and should have access to an abortion. You only have to speak to one of these victims to realize they did not have a choice in the matter.

Edit" yes I did read your question sweety and this is the senario that most incest occurs in so therefore the women is not at fault. If two mouth breathing hillbillies in their 20s want to have s*x then no it isn't rape, but I'd still support the abortion choice in that case.

  7. I can only interpret your motivation for the wording "How is a woman not responsible for incest too?" as flaming.

If this discussion was really about biologically linked adults having consensual s*x, you would have asked the question as such.

And then you berate people for "misunderstanding" Could it be that people misunderstood because of the way you chose to frame this, rather than their supposed lack of "logic"?

  8. If the woman is an adult she is just as responsible as the man is. On the other hand if she is underage and the male isn't, then he is responsible..and vice versa. Whoever is adult is responsible for their own behavior and minors are not responsible. If they are both minors, just tell them to stop until they are adults and can be responsible for their own actions.

  9. Trying to blame women - may not be the way to go about this.   I would say that what you are trying to define is about 1-2% of actual incest.   The rest are part of the power play of a prep who terrorizes a victim.

  10. Relying on a dictionary definition for a word which is differently understood in the community is a tricky position to play from strength.

It's like stating 'fantasy role play sometimes includes rape fantasies, so how are rape victims not responsible too?'

The fact is, that *most* people, when incest is mentioned do not rush for the dictionary, but rather rely on their own understanding, which usually and widely means NON-consensual s3xual behaviour, very often involving a minor.

You might get some more realistic answers if you re-framed your questions as "If incest is consensual between two informed adults, do both bear equal responsibility for the act?".

The answer to THAT would be 'of course', the answer to the question you've asked here is 'why do I need a dictionary to re-define what I already understand'.

    Cheers :-)
