  2. you know those litle spinny things you see on yachts, the ones that cathch the wind to spin, well thats pretty much how... not the exact same but yeah

  3. Measured by a probe outside the aircraft.

I'm not trying to be smart here, but it's the same as an airplane.  It uses a Pitot tube, which air comes into creating pressure.  That pressure is then sent to an instrument in the cockpit called and airspeed indicator, which translates the electric current into something a pilot reads as airspeed.

  5. the airspeed indicator which measures the difference between static pressure and stagnation pressure due to "ram air", captured through a pitot tube.

  6. A glider has an airspeed indicator just like a powered airplane.  For more information, including pictures and diagrams, do an internet search on "airspeed indicator."
