How is an inferiority complex bad?

From what i have read about having an inferiority complex isn't all that bad. In my case I focus a ton on my school work and get great grades, but I'm not the most social person in the world. My goal in life is to be a great military general and have name remembered like Caesar, Charlemagne, Alexander, and Napoleon. Honestly I could care less if I have a terrible social life and I still reach that goal. Really how is it that bad?

  1. I like your question. I think I have that complex too, even now at 27. I definitely had it at your age. I agree that it isn't that bad. Hey Jon, before you join the military, read a book by Howard Zinn. It might change your mind. He has a great graphic novel, if you're more into that, called A People's history of American Empire. War is glorified in textbooks and the media, but it's c**p and the great soldiers and officers in the army are misused by corporate politicians. There's hardly anything worth fighting for unless it's in defense of your own country. Last thing, read "Johnny got his gun." That's probably the best anti-war/anti-joining-the-military book novel out there. I wanted to join a branch out of high school and thank god I had a medical problem and went to college. I'm a different person now.

  2. I'm not sure what your actual question has to do with an inferiority complex.

If you genuinely don't care about socialization, then you're entitled to live your life pursuing something else.  No one else can know what's in your head, and what makes you happy isn't what makes them happy so you shouldn't worry about whether others understand you.  Be careful that you're not just kind of resentful that social skills aren't easy for you, which many people probably go through.

Finally, I hope you're planning to lead the good guys.

  3. I'm not sure what your question is asking

  4. Sorry to tell you this, but the single most important quality of a military general is their interaction with their men and people they are leading.  They need to motivate their men and make them better than they are.  That takes strong people skills.

If you introverted, that is fine, it is your personality and there is nothing wrong with it.  But if that is the case, I would suggest a different life goal, perhaps make your name remembered for something more in line with your personality, like maybe scientific research or writing.  Good luck.

  5. I don't think you could ever be remembered like caesar or any of those other people if you have an inferiority complex.  If anything, to be like those people i think you would need a superiority complex.

i guess its all in how it affects you.

  6. Inferiority complexes often lead to an unhealthy need to compensate for faults, and in a good portion of the cases, people who have them will lie just to make themselves look better. People with these complexes are afraid of being inferior, so they try to act better than they are, and react hostilely when someone proves them wrong. Basically, inferiority complexes can range from annoying to relationship threatening, or even, if the person has enough power, dangerous.

  7. do you want to be a good/great general or a famous general?

I ask because the 2 are not always the same.

  8. I am kind of the same way, except I wanted to be a famous assassin that remained unknown but still notorious.I get great grades as well but It is bad because most likely we wont realize such great of dreams. I don't know how old you are but you start to realize that even though we get all As and all 5s on our AP exams there are still smarter people then us. Natural born Einsteins exist and we can't outsmart them. In today's world you need social connections to get to the top along with brains. So you have to be social. Oh and btw have you read the Art of War by SunTzu? You probably have but if not its great! It mentions the importance of Leader/Follower realtionship.

  9. Try www.hypnosisdownloads.com or professional hypnotherapy: you will need a lot more than good academic results to be a great general. Courage, cunning, daring, brilliance, & the ability to follow orders generally, but use your initiative, when the situation calls for it, and the wisdom to know the difference.

It's fine to set your sights on the stars, but keep your feet on the ground: thousands of others share your ambition. Social skills would help.
