  1. Bromothymol blue is yellow in acidic solution and blue in basic solutions. When CO2 is in solution it reacts with water molecules by the reaction H20 + CO2 ====> H2CO3 an acid. Therefore if there is CO2 in solution bromothymol blue will turn yellow.


  2. bromoththymol blue turns gree/yellow with the presence of mild acidity

    so just say a snail in a solution of bro.blue and water

    the water reacts with the carbon dioxide excreeted by the snail through respiration, which forms a weak acid this acid then reacts with the bro.blue to form a green/yellow solution

    this colour change indicates the formation of carbon dioxide
