How is charging $100 for a 4 foot HDMI-HDMI cable not considered price gouging?!?

It's a freaking cable! It's made of the same elements as other cables that cost less than one/tenth that. It's absurd.

  1. Because you're not REQUIRED to buy that. You can shop around and find a more reasonable price. If you're trying to buy an HD television, and the salesman is trying to make it a requirement that you buy an overpriced cable, go someplace else for the TV AND the cable.

    Also, there are alot of quackery "audiophile" places that make you believe that a cable that costs that much will give you a better picture and/or sound than a "cheaper" cable.

    Price gouging would be like what's going on with gas prices. You have no choice but to pay what the stations are charging.


  2. At the store where they are selling those cables for a hundred dollars... do they at least sell  the petroleum jelly for $2.50. Sheeesh what nerve.

  3. A four foot HDMI cable should not cost $100.

    You can get a 6 foot HDMI cable for less than $5.00
