  1. I agree with what the first answerer said, there are a lot of benefits in running cross country.  Even if you're not particularly good, there will always be people to run with you and keep you going.  After a while you'll get better and feel really proud of yourself for everything you've accomplished.  The best part of cross country is how it's an individual and team sport at the same time.  :)

    Best of luck!

  2. you form a bond with your teammates.

    its very deep.

  3. Yeah, that's what I thought too. But for some reason I keep doing it. Like the person before me said, it IS really rewarding after you finish a paticularly hard practice and even though you feel tired, you feel good too. Plus you get to make friends you wouldn't have met before. And it gets you in good shape and helps you stay healthy. :-)

  4. you should join xc! the more you work hard in practice the harder it will be for you to get tired easily. its alot of hard work but i think you will have fun. i run xc! we go lots of places. we traveled to Oregon for a race last yr and received a 3rd place medal for the girls team. we went camping in Santa Cruz. it really fun and this will pay off. i met a lot of new people and they're really fun to be around. we have team dinners, pool parties, car washes, and more.

  5. although cross country can be chalenging at time, it is very rewarding in the end. i did xc this year and since i am normally doing contact sports, it was a bit different.  xc builds up your stamia and it gives you endurance in which you wont be tired as easily.

  6. I ran cross country, and although it's alot of hard work, it is fun and rewarding.  There are alot of long practices, but they build your endurance and really prepare you for the race.  When I joined I couldn't run a mile, and by the end I was running 5+ miles at a time.

    The benefits are:

    Better health

Weightloss/muscle toning (even if you're already thin like I was, it gets your body in better shape)

    Meet tons of new people

    Make alot of new friends

Travel to different places to race

Not many people can do what you'll be able to do

  7. lol! good question! well i love the feeling of accomplishing something after every practice. going to meets is so exciting and seeing times drop and beating competition in meets is pretty great and then theres always the runners high!

but i think its being with the team that makes it so enjoyable, at least for me. we can run 7 miles singing the whole way! we support each other and do stuff outside of running with each other. people say running isnt a team sport but i think anyone who has run with a team would disagree.

    good luck and have fun!!

  8. Its challenging. You must dedicate and work hard in practice and training if you want to get better. XC is basically running distant runs with hills.
