So i'm writing this paper for my sociology class, and want to know how you would consider divorce to be a public issue in the society today? Also, how sociologists would analyze it as an issue shaped by social structure.

All answers are greatly appreciated! =) Thank you!

  1. Two major things come to mind:

    (1)  It allows people to have a trip and fall mentality; meaning they no longer have to contemplate life when dealing with marriage because of the one way ticket out of it being prevalent today.

    (2) The kids left behind; they suffer most!  If left with only a mother, they look to peer influences, television, and possible negative male role models to understand the adult male and how he should live and act.
