  1. coal contains some energy in it.

    when we burn it lot of heat energy produced.

    this heat energy is used to boil water(in many cases)

    and the vapour produced is used to run motor of trains

    or turbines (used to produce electricity ).

    in this way energy of coals will be utilised.

    if u store coal then it is nothing but u are storing energy.

    thats all.


  2. The best place to store the energy from coal is in the coal - don't burn it!

    If, however, you have already burnt it then it is the same as energy from any other source - short term storage in heat (e.g. for steam turbines) or longer term in hydrogen cells, batteries, etc
