  1. Tidal energy is got as follows.

    To harness the power of rising and falling tides to generate electricity requires a minimum tidal range of  8 metres between high tide and low tides,a narrow bay or estuary that maximises the force of the tidal flow in and out.The strong in-and-out flow of the tide  drives the turbines in a dam built across the bay or estuary.

    Tidal power is a renewable energy source.


  2. It is basically a water mill.  the movement of the water by tidal motion is converted to electrical energy using a generator (dynamo).  The movement of the water moves an impeller of some sort that is connected to a magnet and coil apparatus.  Moving the coil in the magnetic field or moving the magnet inside the coil causes the electrons to move, generating electricity.
