How is global warming changing different global landscapes?

  1. Many islands, including entire nations, are slowly being flooded. Many more have found previously arable land unworkable as they are now saturated by salt water as the sea rises.

    Coral reefs are dying/losing their brilliant colours as the algae responsible can't live in the hotter waters.

    Permafrosts are melting across the northern hemisphere; the terrain is changing to swamp and marshlands.

    Grassland is changing to desert (all deserts are increasing in size)

    Glaciers are receding leaving Alpine valleys

    Floodplains across the globe that were once stable places to live/farm are becoming increasingly flooded

    Areas of ocean once covered by permanent sea ice is changing to open water

    Vegetation pattersn around the world are shifting - coniferous forests becoming mixed-decidous; alpine meadows to grassland, etc
