  1. It's great, but you must practice everyday

  2. Track is the best sport.

It goes all year and summer. Now we're in cross country season, so start running now to get in shape for when school starts- there is still time. In the winter is indoor season then outdoors in the spring, then summer, you train for cross country again

    You'll have a blast

  3. There's cross country for fall.  Winter track for the winter (indoor).  And then Spring track for the spring (Outdoor)  The summer is for getting in shape for cross country.

There's usually a few weeks in between each season sometimes even over a month depending on how far you get in the season.

Having slow friends doesn't really affect you.  Some of my friends are slower but really I just focus on myself.  Track is an individual sport really.  You're the one who's going to win it or lose it for yourself.  There's other people on the team you can run with too.  Bigger teams tend to divide varsity level, JV and some separate freshman.  However my team is very small so we train all together depending on our events.    We don't really have a definite division between Varsity and non-varsity.  I'm in between.  Sometimes I am put in varsity races, sometimes I'm not.

Depending on what the coach thinks is best for you.  We have different paces to meet and such or have to run different lengths.

It's good to go out and run.  The way to get good at running is to run.

  4. It depends on how competitive your track team is.

Here in AZ, we have a pretty comptetitve team which starts pre-pre- season training in July.

If your trying out for Varsity, its a lot more work than JV, but not matter what division your in, it depends on which event you do (i.e. you will probably do more running if you run the 400 than if you throw discuss).

For the 2nd part of the question, if your just begginging exercising, i would start out doing it yourself first until your up to working out regularly everyday.

  5. Track is in the spring and 2-3 months long. The nice thing about track is there are a lot of different events. So if your not so quick, you can try your endurance in longer distance events. You can also try jumping and throwing. Usually the teams are pretty big and a lot of fun!
