A friend of mine has a house in a development near Capira/Campana in Panama which I may rent for a few months. Just wondering what there is to do in that area (beach, restaurants, bars, etc). Thanks!

  1. There is not much to do there.  You are about 35 minutes (or more - depending on traffic) from Panama City.  You are about twenty minutes or less to Coronado and REY, the only super-market in the area.

Coronado has a few restaurants with good food, but not more than three or four. You can go to the Coronado Country club, if you can get a pass.

You will have the beach and that's it.  If you are friendly, hang out at the beach and strike up some friendships with others who are there.

A fridge full of beer and wine and fruit juice with Seco ("Say-CO" - the clear white rum) or Abuelo, the dark

rum, will help you make friends.

So that's it.  I know, I drove by there today on my way back from Decameron, an all included resort that is about twenty minutes beyond Rey.

    So bring a book.
