I thot a Wimble champ wuld automatically have enough points for a top 5, if not top 4 ranking

she must have done pretty bad in other tournaments, no? (lol imitating Rafa)

has she gone out 1st or 2nd round of every other tournament?

  1. i just think they haven't updated her scores yet.  she would be the number 4 seed if they added the points.

  2. Unfortunately for her, she had 999 points to defend from last seasons win, and being she couldnt gain ground, earn more points this year, she remained at 7. Though she could have actually dropped, had she not won and those few behind her had done a bit better. Rankings are quite close now and will be quite interesting heading into hard court season and towards the end of year.

  3. It's because she won Wimbledon last year, so she was just defending the number of points she gained last year.  If she hadn't won the tournament, she would have lost points and possibly her ranking could have dropped.

  4. She defended the points since she won it last year. she did not have a different result. so she did not gain or lose points. This means she has the same ranking.

  5. Other people's points are much higher than hers. In order for her to go up, she needs more points, or others have to loss in the first round for them to really go down to the bottom.
