Didn't his racist comments (chocolate city) and n**i tactics (gun confiscations) sink him?

  1. Democratic elections made it possible.

    Against those are you?

  2. The way he stood up for his state. And tlk down the Bush administration how they treated them. And the ppl saw that.

  3. He's black so I guess it would be because of Affirmative action.

  4. He probably doesn't sit around all day pretending to be a Reverend on yahoo answers

  5. I believe it's called "the citizens of New Orleans voted for him".

    Thanks for the question!

  6. It's called an election and he won.

  7. Apparently not.

As for blaming Katrina on him, apparently his constituents were wondering why the FEDERAL Emergency Management Agency (which has been granted extraordinary powers by the govt, including gun confiscations) sat on it's hands for 2 days after the disaster.

Why bother to fund FEMA if they aren't going to respond to disasters?

  8. Well let's see. On April 22nd and May 20th 2006 they had groups of people (let's call them voters) meet at various places (we'll call them polling places) in New Orleans. At these meetings they filled out what some call an "Election Ballot". Mayor Nagin got his name selected on more of these "Election Ballots" than anyone else. Because of this, it's was declared that he "won the election" and therefore was Mayor of New Orleans for a second term.

You know Rev, this was reported on the "Internets" and in the newspapers on May 20, 2006. That's over 2 years ago. You really need to get out more. Come on man. Get involved in the process. That's you privilege, no YOUR DUTY as an American. Thanks for the 2 points though and keep in touch. PEACE!!!

  9. Why is this in the election section?  People vote him in that why?  I think it funny an racist calling somone else a racist.  You are so funny. :P

  10. How is President George W. Bush still President of the United States? Jim Crow will not allow bias and bigotry to die. The best interests of New Orleans requires innovative implementation of initiatives.

    What city have you managed?

  11. chocolate city - chocolate mayor

  12. Bush: war-monger, fiscally irresponsible, linguistically challenged

We don't have high standards for our officials, I guess

  13. Like their mayor, many of the people who voted for him might be folks who like to displace blame.  Hopefully, they will someday find strength in their in personal accountability and in their own individualism, and vote him out of office.

  14. The same reason Washington D.C reelected Marion Barry !! Democrats promise money and programs to those who don't work or pay taxes... but have PLENTY of time to VOTE.

Arrested and convicted of possession of cocaine, given a 6 month prison sentence and two years later running for city council on the slogan "He May Not Be Perfect, But He's Perfect for D.C." !!

MORE possession charges have occured, but he's dodged the bullet and is running for mayor AGAIN !!

  15. Because majority of the citizens of New Orleans are displaced or unable to vote.  Second he probably voted for himself by stuffing the ballot box.  Third NO ONE ELSE wanted the job.

**Also Ray Nagin stood up to the idiots in the White House. Even though he could have handled the situation a bit better. He still is the first mayor I know that have told the President "to get off his ***" and do something.  By the way calling New Orleans the "chocolate city" is no racist than calling the house of the United States "the white house", hispanics calling their neighborhood "the barrio", Chinese calling parts of NY and Sanfrancisco "Chinatown", or Italians calling parts of NY "little Italy".  By the way whose gun was taken?  Not legal owners but gang bangers and criminals.  I know people who have guns there and still posted their signs "You loot we shoot".  So, research before you mouth off your falsities.
