  1. Very simple actually.

GDP per capita is based on how much you have divided by the total population.

Take country Imaginaria with a population of 500,000,000 and a GDP of $500,000,000.  They have a GDP per capita of $1 per person.

Now take the country of Ficticia with a population of 100 and a GDP of $1,000,000.  They have a GDP per capita of $10,000 per person.

In real life terms, the UAE has a small population as such, more of their GDP is shared at high er quantities amongst their people.

  2. because they have 3 citizens

  3. UAE is smaller than Maine.  They are dependent on oil but it still pays off big time.  They also have 20% unemployment.  This means a very few are getting very rich.
