Displacement: the amount of liquid moved by an object in that fluid

A 20 ton ship will have to displace 20 tons of water to float, the point at which 20 tons is displaced is where the ship will float at.

A rock cannot displace it's weight in water because it is more dense.

Less dense items float, more dense items sink. (it's like oil and vinagear.
