How is it that Liberals can justify a candidate that supports more taxes?

when i allready have close to $800 a paycheck comming out in various taxes etc?

On the rich or otherwise. doesnt the rich spend more money then us? thus adding more to the economy?

Personally i can think of better things to do with 1600 a month like put it back into the economy or give it to people i think needs it more then uncle sam...

Up the sales tax, lower the income tax. Would like to see the tax evaders avoid that one, and help the economy at the same time

First of all, no matter who is elected, taxes will have to go up. We are in too much debt to have yet another stupid tax cut. That is just basic economics, if you know anything about that.

Second of all, the only people who are going to really feel their taxes increase, if Obama is elected, are the extremely wealthy or the top 3 %. Something tells me you don't make that much so you'll get a tax cut. Don't listen to that old c**p about democrats raising taxes. That is just more horsesh*t that the right wing has fed you. In case you haven't noticed, they lie.

Taxing the rich and the corporations means they have less to invest in capital and labor, and less to put into pension plans, so the result is layoffs, reduced retirement benefits  and outsourcing of jobs

Obama will cut taxes for 90% of the working people.  If you have $800 withholding, you are one who will get a cut.

Why do you want to pay more taxes to give cuts to ultra wealthy people and businesses with enormous profits?

No - it wont hurt the "people who sign our paychecks".  The top tax rate has been declining for 50 years until it is nearly the same as the tax rate for middle class.

You have to understand that the two other forms of tax, sales and property - bite the incomes of the poor and the middle class at a much higher percentage of income than they do the wealthy.

The income tax SHOULD be progressive to balance the regressive nature of the other two taxes.

This country had a much higher rate of progressivity in better economies than this one and it didn't hurt a thing.

It doesn't matter who gets elected.  And it doesn't matter what Obama promises.  Taxes are going to rise.  There is a 54 Trillion dollar national budget deficit and the national debt will rise no matter what we do.  There is over 34 Trillion dollars commited on just welfare entitlements.

The real answer is going to be found there.  Approximately 43.54% of our economy on the underground.  taking the tax burden from the pay check stub and putting on the cash registers would include everyone, and the rich, having more money to spend would have to pay more taxes and they could not evade them like the ultra rich do.  The poor could be given vouchers and other assistance to offset the sales tax, and a lot more money for their basic living.  Check it out.

If the dems get control, the economy will crash. How can 5 percent of the people hold up 95 percent of the people. They make it sound like 95 percent of the people will be paying very little tax, while the 5 percent who own businesses, and employ the 95 percent are going to bare the brunt of the tax burden. Only a moron would believe that would work. What would happen is the small business would close, and the big businesses would take their business off shore leaving the 95 percent high and dry.

Obama has proposed a TAX CUT for 95% of middle class Americans. Including--given the figure you stated--YOU.

The rich,no. He has proposed taking away the tax cuts they got from the Bush administration--in other words to putting an end to the free ride the rich have been getting while YOU paid taxes.

3) the notion that such taxes as Obama has actually proposed would be "counter-productive" is a myth.  Putting more money in the pockets of ordinary Americans will boost consumer spending. THAT will boost economic growth far more than giving a few rich people tax breaks at everyone elsse's expense.
