I Want to know how it is that when you go to certain sites, you cannot open the view source. No matter how many times you click on it, it doesn't open. If this is on purpose, how can I get my site to do that?

  1. You can go to the source as follows. Tools - Internet Options - Settings - View files. The copy the file out of the browser cache to a temp folder. There you can open the HTML or JS file with notepad or anything else. Some sites turn off the right-click so that the "view source" menu item does not show.

Can't find the file of the page in question? Empty your browser cache, then browse to the page you want to investigate. Immediately look at the "View files".

You can also download IE8 - Beta from microsoft. It has a programmer-friendly editor to find out everything about HTML, CSS, javascript and everything else of a web site. Let's face it - a web site on the internet is a very public thing.

  2. Some sites protect their source code  in much the same ways they might protect images from being snagged with a right click

Music and video sites do it too
