How is it that humans can be so selfless and good yet at the same time capable of such evil things?

think about it what other animal on the planet would live for another, would spend their lives for others would donate their organs to another would even die for other people whom they may never even meet. yet we are the same species that holds the sickos, the murderers, the child molesters, the dictators, etc.etc. how can one entity be capable of such extremes? of course most people are neither good nor bad but somewhere in the middle (myself included) but there's no doubt the range is vast indeed. it just makes me wonder.

Animals have no ego's.  And yours is full to the brim, and the older you get, and the bigger the expectations, the more garbage gets added until you burst, blowup, hit the valve......

well i dont' know the answer..but i agree with you.....we're even evil to animals...i mean, do we see them hunting us down to fry us? But we do it to them....A human doesn't see how fortunate they are..they think their so unlucky, broke...lost love...but look at other living creatures situation..their being killed for garments, carpets we step onn...at least humans have lives and have the power to make a choice..we have a choice to not kill someone, rape children or such..i dont' get whyy humans can't see how fortunate they are and make other people miserable...

Have you ever thought of the shadows..

yeah the shadows ..the one which forms when an object and opaque objects comes in front of  the light source.

What i am trying to say that where there is light , there is darkness.

It is inside us. The God and The Satan.

No one is born a good person or a bad person. When we are born our soul is in no where land. Both the darkness and the light try to consume us.

Its our choice what way we are gonna take.

The strange thing is that you will rarely find a fully bad person and a fully good person. What you will find are the shades in personality. That is the shades of a Grey personality.

I have a Grey personality.

Sometimes i am good sometimes i am very bad.Of course i am trying to alter my personality and attitude more towards the brighter side and hope it works.

Lol i was trying to tell you guys that the solution to this problem is within us. We are the one who can solve this problem. We are the cure and we are the plague.

This is what seperates humans from the other species.

Most , if not all, animals and birds and living beings  seem programmed to live in a particular way.. They have no capability to choose. Ceratin basic , inbuilt traits guide them through their lives. Fear, safety, hunger , procreation, protect the young.... these are all preprogrammed.

When it comes to the humans, they have all these and one more  characteristic. It is variously called as Freewill, Choice , Discrimination , being right or wrong  etc . etc. It is this freewill that is a blessing for many and a curse for some. The mind , that exercises this freewill goes beserk  with the intoxication of being in power  to decide and snaps. That is what happens to suicide bombers , the terrorists, the serial killers .

For a majority of the rest  freewill is , at times , a toy to  play with .
