  1. That's simply not true.  In some cases you are right, particularly when dealing with capitalist revolutions.  Capitalism is built around the monogamous family as the economic unit, which means, women become servants, no longer equal to men as they had been in the past (If you examine families before the rise of say Greece or Rome, you will see that women once held positions of power, including inheritance and lineage following the mother's line.  This began to change with the domestication of animals and the development of private ownership.  Men wanted to subject women to monogamous marriage to ensure that men could pass down their property to their children.  However, this was monogamy for women only, as prostitution developed.  The important roles that women had played in the past were degraded, cast aside, or simply ignored).  For a capitalist revolution to support the rights of women would be to question the concepts of private ownership and other institutions vital to the survival of aristocracies around the world.

However, in socialist revolutions (Paris Commune of 1871, October Revolution, and so) women played many roles and were important figures in leading these revolutions.  Socialists were the first to support universal suffrage, universal schooling, and allowed women to take part in governments.  Rosa Luxemburg was just one of the many women who played leading roles in socialist revolutions.  Capitalist historians often downplay the role these women have in order to prevent women today from questioning their positions of servitude.
