How is it with a 24 hour news cycle the same stories get rehashed all day long?

I had the same news channel on for about ten hours and the same stories got featured over and over sometimes the exact same presentation , throughout the day there was even featureing the samr story - like the spy Saat story for days on end. How is it with the entire world connected that only 6 or 8 stories make it onis there really nothing happening in the entire world?

i agree they need to get oof the stuck recording and get all the news

i use to really like watching but im sick of the same stuff over and over

As there are usually only a few really important things happening on any given day they just get cycled round and around so that whenever you switch on you can catch up with the news.  The problem with rolling news coverage is that it doesn't editorialise the news so all stories are treated equally and all stories are given equal time, but all have to be covered within a specified time limit before the roll around starts again.

I refuse to watch 24 hour news programmes for this very reason.

Because we are stupid enough to keep watching.

We keep their ratings high.

Believe it or not, there are just so many newsworthy items to be broadcast in a day.

I will watch for about twenty minutes, until they have gone once around the block, and then go on to something else.
