  1. Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) will relax you, and shortly after they take you off of it, you should feel fine.  Being put to sleep will ruin your whole day.  I've had both.

  2. ok for one it makes you not care and my dentist uses it novicane sux use the laughing gas novicane makes you like so num and yesterday i could only smile on half of my face the guy that is first is wrong they do use  laughing gas and it is only like 4 20 minutes use that

  3. Laughing gas just really relaxes you. (kind of worked on me.. But yet I do wind myself up too much..)

You will still feel most of discomfort, but mentally you will be "calm".

You can request being put to sleep. Nothing bad will happen to you believe me Ive been put to sleep 2ce and one of those was to get 4 wisdom teeth surgically removed. You will wake up and not even remember a thing. It feels like you close your eyes then open them a second later.

  4. it's a relaxant. I had it while I was getting my fillings. it totally relaxes everything. ur feet might fall asleep. they might ask you if u want laughing gas and the Novocaine shot. I've had both and it feels pretty good.

It depends how much they give for it to wear off. If they give you a small amount. It'll wear off quickly. other times, it wears off in 15-20 min.

  5. Never let them put you to sleep unless it is necessary. There is a slight chance you might not wake up. Most dentist do not use laughing gas anymore. Novocaine is what they use now.

  6. laughing gas just relaxes you during the process. i had it before. it really relaxed me and the weird thing is i really started laughing. like really hard during the process. the dentist was like what the heck? are you really laughing? lol. and the funny part is im horribly scared of dentists and there i am, laughing while he's pulling out my teeth...

but i dont know if i recommend being put to sleep. i have not had it done before. but my 7 year old sister did. and she woke up during the process and she started freaking out. i think you should stick to the novocaine. (spelling?) or the laughing gas.  but thats just me. :)

i wish you all the luck in the whole world with your teeth! GOOD LUCK! :)

(i recommend talking to your dentist about what is better for you)
